The new song by, Sheffield based, electronic music project of former 'Seven Words' songwriter and 'Hand Held Halo Productions' founder, Neil Houldridge, is a gripping journey into the dark nostalgia of mid-tempo synth pop. A blend of modern synth and electro pop sounds with the wistful classic synth sounds, getting us into a familiar soundscape.
The clever intro immediately sets the tone, transporting the listener to a state of nostalgia, A catchy melody constructed through layers of twinkling electronic tunes, ringing emotions of both excitement and self-reflection.
The vocals are greatly blend with the music giving a dark and deep dimension to the song, and lyrics, while exploring themes of self exploration, seem to be kept deliberately ambiguous, allowing listeners to project their own emotions onto the music. Production has some dynamic shifts with beautiful arpeggiated melodies with strong beats coming out of more raw influences and creating a contrast with the rest of the arrangement and energetic chords.
