"Into The Fog", taken from their new album "Paradoxical Sleep" (out now via Spleen+), is a haunting, slow-burning piece that elegantly marries cold wave textures with melancholic dream-pop. Ferrucci’s ghostly vocals intertwine seamlessly with Fred’s, adding a shadowy layer of familiarity that feels both timeless and cinematic.
There’s a deliberate restraint to the arrangement, echoed guitars, pulsing bass, and drifting synths, that allows the emotional weight to flow through slowly, like mist rolling in over forgotten memories. Rooted in their post-punk revivalism yet forward-facing in execution, "Into The Fog" is one of the best moments on "Paradoxical Sleep", and a reminder that The Ultimate Dreamers’ reawakening is a lot more than welcome.
