Slate Blue - Run
Emerging from Berlin’s vibrant electronic scene, Slate Blue released new single and video, Run"!
Slate Blue continues to demonstrate their evocative storytelling with their new single, "Run." This track goes through the exhausting illusion of constant competition, a theme that resonates deeply with a generation continuously caught in the race. "Run" 's verses capture this sense of fatigue, painting a clear and strong picture of the pressures and comparisons that weigh on us. This builds to a powerful voice of clarity in the chorus: "You don’t have to keep running, running." This line serves as a melodic exhale, offering a moment of relief and perspective. Music-wise, "Run" is a masterful fusion of synth-pop, cyberpop, and darkwave. It's built on a foundation of pulsing synths, atmospheric transitions, and the duo's signature haunting vocals, creating a unique, dark, electro-pop sound.
This powerful message is perfectly amplified by the official video, shot at Berlin’s iconic ICC. The visual narrative presents the cold steel and brutalist harmony of the location, using the architecture as a striking image for the inner chaos of competition and the pressure to keep going, even when the race isn't yours to begin with.
Slate Blue consists of Dr.Stef Huber and Dr. Hardy Smieszek. Their debut single “Crossroads” (out June 27, 2025) and "Run" are the first glimpses of their upcoming album The Fragile Order.
