PURE OBSESSIONS & RED NIGHTS UNVEIL NEW OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “GHOSTLY QUEEN”
Following the celebrated release of "The Night Trilogy" on November 1st, 2025, Pure Obsessions & Red Nights unveil the official video for “Ghostly Queen”, taken from "Nightbreed", the final act of the trilogy.
This release brings the band’s nocturnal saga to a close, a moment of transition where endings and new beginnings blur.
Release date, Monday, November 10th, 2025 - Directed by VD Pictures (Switzerland)
With its pulsating analog synths, hypnotic rhythms, and shadowed atmosphere, "Ghostly Queen" stands as one of the band’s most cinematic creations to date, a song that bridges the elegance of classic 80s darkwave with the tension of modern electronic production. It’s a sound nostalgic, full of yearning and revelation.
Alongside the release, the band shared their thoughts on the track and its place within their universe:
“Ghostly Queen” is taken from Nightbreed, the album that closes The Night Trilogy, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
Musically, it’s a dark synthpop anthem infused with darkwave ambience — built on vintage 80s synths and drum machines, and enhanced with modern textures and effects to create something timeless yet alive.
The track embodies the cinematic essence of Pure Obsessions & Red Nights: emotional, sensual, and haunted by a lingering sense of transformation."

ABOUT “GHOSTLY QUEEN”
In "Ghostly Queen", the story of Sadie reaches its pivotal transformation. Once a fragile presence, she emerges as a self-aware figure who has learned to harness her own darkness. Through her dialogue with Mr. Strangler, the eternal ghost of the band’s mythology, she transcends fear and embraces rebirth.
The accompanying video, shot in Switzerland by VD Pictures, translates this metamorphosis into striking gothic imagery. Every frame reflects a sense of awakening: shadows becoming light, fragility turning to defiance. With a new actress portraying Sadie, the narrative suggests that she is no longer one identity, but a mirror for all, a symbol of inner conflict, beauty, and liberation.
“Lyrically, Ghostly Queen brings back Sadie — the recurring female character who has now reached a new stage of her evolution. Once a broken figure, she now embraces her own darkness." The band says and continues: "It’s almost a dialogue with Mr. Strangler, asking to be freed from the weight of the world so she can finally become herself — and take revenge. Her journey mirrors the theme of rebirth and emancipation that runs through the entire trilogy.
The music video, directed by VD Pictures in Switzerland, visually captures that transformation in their signature gothic cinematic style.
This time, Sadie is portrayed by a new actress, reinforcing the idea that Sadie is not just one person, she is everyone, a reflection of our inner ghosts and desires.
Ghostly Queen stands as both an ending and a revelation: a farewell to the night, and a whisper of what’s yet to come.”
