Human Hollow Release Self-Made, Nightmare-Fueled Music Video for “Playing Dead”
Portland dark-synthpop duo Human Hollow unveil the official music video for “Playing Dead”!
"Playing Dead" feverish, claustrophobic descent into the psyche of a survivor. The track originally appeared as a single earlier this year and now sits at the emotional core of the band’s newly released concept EP "ERASER", a five-song exploration of fear, guilt, violence, and the fragile humanity that persists inside horror.

The video mirrors the song’s haunted inner world. Stark, surreal, and disorienting, steeped in fog, shadows, and theatrical distortion. Entirely DIY, it extends the band’s commitment to fully self-produced storytelling across music, photography, and cinematography. Shot across two concentrated days and executed without a crew or helping hands, the band transformed their basement into a makeshift studio equipped with fog machines, red lights, plaster masks, green-screen backdrops, and plenty of cheap beer.
Starring Lucia Luna as The Sleeper and Austin McKee as Mop Man, the video expands the cinematic world Human Hollow has been crafting across their photography and production work.
