British alt electronic, new wave act, Eckotrigger unveils new single
"Pleasure And Pain" is out on Friday May 8th!
Alternative electro, new wave duo Eckotrigger has spent the last few years, since their formation back in 2020, quietly perfecting their synth rock and new electro wave sound. Now with the release of "Pleasure & Pain", producer and instrumentalist Paul Dogra with the vocalist/lyricist Joel Alexander they deliver an atmospheric forerunner of their highly anticipated debut album "Reflections", slated for release late may 2026.
"Pleasure & Pain" touches the emotional parts of their influences and their sonic exploration goes deeper into alternative paths, without leaving aside the synthesized textures and the new wave tones. Inspired by their mutual respect to bands like Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails, Paul and Joel manages to bring a gloomy synth sound balancing on the thin line of synth pop, electro rock and new wave.
Joel's vocals highlights the brooding ambience, while giving an intense imagery in the arrangement using the deep and evocative lyrics! "Pleasure & Pain" 's sound is layered polished and lush mixing smooth synth lines with alternative rock aesthetic. Eckotrigger remain loyal to their origins, the sounds that inspire them and the artists that influence them, delivering a beautifully crafted precursor to the "Reflections" full length album
Eckotrigger are an exciting electronic/alternative synth rock duo formed in London UK comprising of Producer and Instrumentalist Paul Dogra and Vocalist/Lyricist Joel Alexander. Having been in many different bands over the years and frustrated with the difficulties that derive from a band experience – they formed Eckotrigger together based on their shared appreciation and admiration of artists such as Empathy Test, David Bowie, NIN, The Cure, The National and Depeche Mode.
The band lives in both London and Copenhagen and they work together in both London and Copenhagen on song ideas. They also work individually on song ideas and record the songs in Paul’s home studio before additional mixing and production is made with Nathan Cooper at Fiction Studios in London. Seeking to create music, that fuses elements of electronica and alternative rock, evoking many different musical textures, themes and feelings. Music that is interesting and challenging.
Eckotrigger's debut single was released in December 2020 with an accompanying video on the themes of mental health and addiction – receiving numerous radio play and discussed on BBC Radio related to mental health, addiction, and the importance of music in helping to deal with these issues.
In September 2021, they performed for ‘World Peace Day’ in a 24-hour on-line concert with various artists.
Since signing in August 2022 with Danish electronic label, Town and Towers Records, they have been releasing several singles and an EP - and they performed live at Elektroland Festival 2023 and Electrofest 23, both in Denmark. I 2024 they played 3 concerts in the UK, and they played as supporting act for renowned, Empathy Test. They also played at other ‘Emergenza Festival 2025’ and ‘Live Wired’ in Copenhagen in 2026.
In late May 2026 the first album with Eckotrigger titled “Reflections’ will be out on CD and 12” vinyl.
