Glam meets Macabre in "Knightmares", digital single, from KN/GHTS
"Knightmares" delivers a hammer-horror dancefloor hit!
James Knights is no stranger to the electro underground. Also known as half of synthpop duo Boytronic and one half of Scarlet Soho, his solo work as KN/GHTS is standing between the intense moments, atmospheric lines and catchy rhythms. In "Knightmares" all these characteristics are perfectly wrapped in this macabre ambience with a strong dose of retro-drama show and sound!
There is a cinematic strength coming from the heart of the song, blended with the high energy of James Knights and his skillful interpratation and performance. "Knightmares" is completely playfull but in a dark and obsessed way. While it is a daneable retro sounded song, there is a sense of this surreal and vintage haunted aesthetics.
"Knightmares" digital single comes with a powerfull b-side addition, the Werner Karloff Remix, where the Mexico city based artist strips away the thetricallity and brings a version full of cold tones and an old-school industrial tempo, reminding the EBM textures of the 80's Belgium scene. Karloff also enhances the horror parts of "Knightmares" thurning the track into nightmarish analog, retro punk soundscape.
"Knightmares" is also accomapnied by a moody and atmospheric DIY video, recorded in sepia tone, in a forest near KN/GHTS hometown!
"Knightmares" digital single released on April 23rd, 2026 and it is originally included in the "Supernatural Lover" LP, released on February 5th, via Specchio Uomo Label!
Press Release:
KN/GHTS returns with Knightmares, a bold and uncompromising digital single taken from the 2026 album Supernatural Lover. After years of relentless touring, this release continues the evolution of KN/GHTS’ sound. Fronted by James Knights the driving force behind KN/GHTS, one half of Scarlet Soho, and one half of cult synth duo Boytronic, the album explores obsession and loss, while leaving space for moments of hope. A macabre, Hammer Horror–style humour cuts through, adding a surreal edge to deeply personal reflections.
Knightmares is forged entirely from instinct and emotion. Darkly playful and often menacing, it moves between intensity, reflection, and flashes of euphoria, capturing a sense of transformation that feels both disoriented and vividly alive.
The B-side features Knightmares (Werner Karloff Remix). Mexico City based electronic musician Werner Karloff blends post-punk, minimal synth, and industrial influences into retro-futurist analog soundscapes inspired by urban life and German expressionism.
A DIY video for Knightmares, shot in a forest near KN/GHTS’ hometown, fully embraces his signature Hammer Horror aesthetic, moody, theatrical, and darkly atmospheric.
Known for captivating live performances, KN/GHTS has built a reputation across Europe and beyond. His shows - equal parts chaos and precision, have earned him the nickname “Disco Rampensau,” a performer whose energy is impossible to ignore.
